Riyadh, June 14 (BNA): The Saudi Air Defence today intercepted a ballistic missile which was launched by the Iran-backed terrorist militias to target the Kingdom’s territories.

“The air defence systems detected at 15.09 the missile which was launched from Sa’ada territories to target the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, said the official spokesman of the Saudi-led Arab Alliance in support of legitimate government in Yemen Colonel Turki Al-Malki.

“This hostile act by the Iran-backed Houthi militias proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi militias equipped with qualitative capabilities in a flagrant and explicit violation of the two UN resolutions No. 2216 and 2231 aiming to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the regional and international security”, he said.

In a statement posted on the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said that the launching of the ballistic missiles towards densely-populated cities and villages represents a flagrant violation of the humanitarian international law.
