Minister honours holy Quran contest winners

Manama, June 14 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has stressed the Ministry’s keenness to promote the tolerant religious and human values, and to present programmes that encourage the members of the Bahraini society to memorise the holy Quran, study its meanings and apply its teachings regarding good morals, the values of moderation and tolerance and rejection of fanaticism and extremism.
The minister was speaking while receiving the three winners of the “Young Reciter” contest, including Abdulla Mahfoudh Hazza, Mohammed Riyadh and Jassim Hussain Al-Khadri.

Organised by Bahrain TV, with the participation of 60 reciters, the contest aimed to motivate children to recite the holy Quran and read it with Tajweed.

The minister honoured the winners by granting them appreciation certificates and cash prizes, stressing that they were honoured by their memorization of the holy Quran and reading it with Tajweed.

Al-Romaihi extended sincere thanks and appreciation to jury of the contest, including Shaikh Nasser Janahi, Shaikh Musaab Abdulrazzak and Shaikh Ali Salah Omar, as well as to the media competencies in charge of the contest for their efforts to ensure its success in achieving its goals of promoting the values of the holy Quran.
